The 11th Annual Washington State Screenplay Competition

Submission Rules and Information


The competition is divided into two rounds. The initial round requires you to complete and submit the submission sheet, a two-page synopsis, four copies of the first twenty pages of your screenplay, and a submission fee.


If you are selected as a finalist, you will go onto round two and be asked to submit multiple copies of your full screenplay to be reviewed by a second tier of high profile industry judges.


Rules


Your screenplay must be original work
Screenplays must meet ONE of the following criteria:
a) Written by a resident of Washington State
b) 50% set in Washington State,
c) Able to be filmed in Washington State
You must register your screenplay with the Writers Guild before submitting
Your screenplay must be in standard screenplay format. click here For more information on proper formatting.


Timeline and Entry Fees


March 1-April 11: Accepting early entry submissions, $35 per entry
April 11-May 1: Accepting regular entry submissions, $40 per entry
May 1-May 8: Accepting late entry submissions, $50 per entry
July 11: Finalists are announced
September 15: Winner announced along with two runners-up
