The 11th Annual Washington State Screenplay Competition

Calling all screenwriters in the US and Canada. Northwest Film Forum and Northwest Screenwriters Guild invite you to submit your screenplay to the 11th Annual Washington State Screenplay Competition.


Beginning in March, we will be accepting submissions for this year's screenplay competition.

The Grand Prize


+ Announcement as winner in display ad in Variety and Hollywood Reporter, along with publicity releases to film industry and script-related publications
+ Staged script reading with a cast of talented Seattle actors at the 11th annual Local Sightings Film Festival, NWFF's October 2008 festival of Northwest film and video
+ One year membership to NWFF and NWSG
+ Save The Cat bundle (both books and software by Blake Snyder)

Submission:


Screenplays must meet ONE of the following criteria:
a) Written by a resident of Washington State
b) 50% set in Washington State,
c) Able to be filmed in Washington State

Go to www.filmwashington.com for a list of a wide variety of stellar locations in Washington State. This beautiful state has everything from upscale cityscapes to gritty urban settings, craggy mountains to misty seashores, and evergreen forests to an expansive desert.

Entrants may submit screenplays by mail or email (in pdf, final draft, or word format).

Deadlines:


Early Deadline: April 11 ($35 fee)
Regular Deadline: May 1 ($40 fee)
Late Deadline: May 8 ($50 fee)
