Rebecca's "creature-in-progress," Monstrous, draws on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein to explore how the Romantic writers who pre-date cinema have informed what we see as "cinematic:" dangerous romance, aesthetic and political revolution, the tearing at old ways of seeing, beauty and ruins.
