Seattle Moves
Jul 20, 2013
Seattle creative luminaries Brent Watanabe (independent artist), Gabe Kean and Thomas Ryun (from Belle and Wissell, Co.) along with Josh Hayward and Morgan Henry (from Digital Kitchen) will show recent work and discuss the process and expanding field of public and interactive experiential design.
Experiential designers abandon the single, lonely screen in order to integrate their work into the environment around them. Experiential design projects can serve many purposes: wayfinding inside a space, providing information via interactive displays, or treating the senses and the mind to compelling juxtapositions of images and space. When design informs not just the application of graphics and video, but also sound, sculpture and customized software, the groundbreaking potential for design fitted to architectural space becomes realized.
